Meeta Gupta Hari loves working with children and adolescents (aged 5-18 years), advocates for their needs, and strives to bring out their true potential as part of the counselling process. She believes in involving parents and making them a part of their children’s therapeutic journey. Meeta has a Master of Counselling from Monash University (Australia) and is certified in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy). She tailors each session according to her clients’ needs to best support them build resilience and inner strength.
Along with her private practice, Meeta works part time at The Zubin Foundation, an NGO, where she counsels children and adolescents. There, she runs support groups for women, parents with children with special needs, and raises awareness of mental health in the ethnic minority community.
Meeta has experience in two international schools in Hong Kong as a counsellor working with adolescents suffering from symptoms of anxiety, depression, self-harm tendencies, internet addiction, and low self-esteem. In addition, Meeta was at SPOT Children’s Therapy Centre for 18 months where she worked with children with a wide range of mental health concerns and special needs. Meeta also delivers mental health talks with Mind HK for parents of teenagers.
As a long-term expatriate having lived, studied, and worked in India, Singapore, and now Hong Kong, Meeta is well-acquainted with cross-cultural adjustments and challenges facing clients of various nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
Meeta is a member of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association (HKPCA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). She is fluent in English and Hindi.
