ABOUT JULIA
With over 30 years of experience, Julia grew up in Hong Kong and holds a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy (1994). She has extensively and consistently promoted and piloted art therapy programs in local hospitals, NGO’s, and schools since 1995; client groups include schizophrenia, special needs (down syndrome, autism and ADHD), geriatrics, rehabilitation (stroke and cancer patients), domestic violence, survivors of abuse, self-injury, and grief.
Julia has worked in Hong Kong since 1995 as an art therapist with private clients (children, teenagers and adults) as well as families stemming from a psychotherapy framework. She also integrates other modalities such as Analytical (Jungian), Psychodynamic, CBT, Gestalt, and uses Behavioural/ Developmental approaches. Julia is trained in EMDR (Level 2). Her work with clients is confidential and client centered. At the core of her practice is a strong belief that what lies within people is a creative spirit that can help to build resilience and strength. Julia is dedicated to help clients reach their fuller potential, by tapping into inner resources. She leverages the creative process to help navigate clients through and out of difficult periods of life, find solutions, and envision new ways of being thus achieving a more balanced and harmonious life.
Julia is the founding president of The Hong Kong Association of Art Therapists and is also a lead developer and instructor in Art Facilitation. Julia has presented her work overseas and locally and has published reviews, book chapters, and conference papers.
