CHILD PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS
Lifespan Counselling’s team includes specialists in child psychological assessments. In supporting students with special needs, a high-quality report from an experienced professional offers parents and educators a diagnosis and a well-defined plan to move forward. Our clinicians, trained at the Ph.D. level, offer two assessment options, a standard assessment and a more comprehensive option. If you have more specific needs, we will work with you to find a more suitable option.
Assessment Option A – Standard Psychological/Diagnostic assessment:
- 1 hr Developmental History (with parents)
- 2 hr Clinical diagnostic assessment and ADHD assessments
- 1.5 hr Report Writing
- 1.5 hr Feedback Session (half with parents/half with client)
Assessment Option B – Comprehensive Psychological/Diagnostic assessment plus IQ test:
- 1 hr Developmental History (with parents)
- 2 hr Clinical diagnostic assessment and ADHD assessments
- 2 hr IQ Test (Weschler scales)
- 2.5 hr Report Writing
- 1.5 hr Feedback Session (half with parents/half with clients)
ADULT ASSESSMENTS
Lifespan Counselling offers a one-time 60 minute assessment session with our senior clinical psychologist, Dr. James Yu. This will help you develop a deeper understanding of your concerns and a better feel of what therapy might look like if you are uncertain of how to move forward. You can choose to have either an initial diagnostic assessment/screening to find out if you meet the criteria of certain psychological disorders or a projective personality test to learn more about unconscious aspects of your personality. Note: This assessment option is not suitable for examining conditions that typically require a comprehensive assessment (e.g., ADHD, intellectual disorder, Autism).
We also provide more comprehensive clinical diagnostic sessions for adults, including ADHD assessment. If you have other specific assessment requirements, please reach out and we will work with you to tailor a plan that meets your needs.
